TFE's WIPP CCP Records Manager Elected to NIRMA Board of Directors

Sheila Pearcy (third from left in photo), TFE’s Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) Central Characterization Program (CCP) Records Manager, was recently elected to the Nuclear Information & Records Management Association (NIRMA) Board of Directors.

Sheila will be serving as Director of Infrastructure on the 6-person NIRMA Board. (The other NIRMA Board positions are President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Director of Technical Programs.) Prior to her election to the board, Sheila served as Business Unit Director for the Membership & Marketing Business Unit for NIRMA for five years. Now, as Director of Infrastructure, she will provide oversight to the Membership & Marketing Business Unit.

Another of Sheila’s new responsibilities as Director of Infrastructure will be facilitating vendor exhibits at NIRMA’s annual conferences. NIRMA’s conferences focus primarily on records management topics; for instance, this year’s NIRMA conference occurred August 5-7 in Las Vegas, Nevada, and covered topics ranging from “Lowering Costs Through Centralized Cloud-based Records Storage” to “Current Situations of Nuclear Power & New Challenges to Records Management in Japan.”

Sheila has worked under various contractors as WIPP CCP Records Manager since 2001 and has been employed by TFE as WIPP CCP Records Manager since 2014. Sheila is a Certified Records Analyst (CRA) through the Institute of Certified Records Managers (ICRM) and has over 26 years of experience in records management and quality assurance. TFE is proud to employ someone so dedicated to her career as Sheila, as she demonstrates her passion for records management through her leadership roles within the industry.   

NIRMA is a nonprofit organization that provides guidance to commercial and Department of Energy (DOE) facilities in the areas of quality records programs, regulatory compliance activities, electronic records initiatives, document management technologies, and knowledge management issues. Since 1990, NIRMA has partnered with the Institute of Certified Records Management (ICRM) to develop an advanced certification for professionals in the records management industry.
